field note #1: a quiet return
an invitation to reclaim your ground with presence, purpose, and power
Welcome to Field Notes On Being—a space for honest reflection, embodied leadership, and quiet transformation. this is Field Note #1. I’m so happy you are here.
-
here we enter sacred space. a quiet refuge from the cacophony of our spinning world. a community of seekers, dreamers, and creators.
as we begin, i invite you to feel the soles of your feet on the earth and take a deep breath. notice any tension in your body. and now, let it go.
the global change we’ve experienced in 2025 is beyond what i could have imagined just one year ago. it’s arguably more than our bodies can fully metabolize.
and still, i stand in this belief: we are always at choice. yes, even now.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
~Viktor Frankl
we can respond from purpose, rather than reacting from fear.
this is highly personal. there is no right way. and it begins not with what’s around you, but what’s within you.
when things feel groundless, return.
feel your feet on the floor. place your hands in dirt. take a long, slow inhale. then exhale. place one hand on heart, one hand on belly.
here we recreate solid ground.
i believe our path to world peace and prosperity is through universal nervous system regulation!
we were taught to forget.
the dominant paradigm rewards data-driven logic, speed, doing, and certainty. it’s no surprise that we live in our heads, identified with our thoughts and believing they are true.
we were taught to silence emotion, disregard intuition, and separate spiritual inquiry from leadership.
we narrowed our range in pursuit of profit. conformed and contorted to belong. and in doing so, reduced our human experience.
and on the other side, we end up burnt out, numb, and lonely. believe me when i tell you this is not a personal flaw, but rather the expected outcome of a system designed for scale.
my work is about remembering.
remembering what we were taught to forget. reclaiming the parts we exiled in the pursuit of performance. returning to our inherent intelligence: the wisdom of our bodies, our intuition, our ancestors. deep mastery from the inside out, not outside in.
i’ve dedicated my life to understanding systems (community, corporate, and geopolitical) and the truths of our shared human experience. i’ve collected teachings, practices, and tools to live and lead from my purpose, presence, and power.
from my heart, i offer them to you.
this is a lifelong practice of which i’m both student and guide.
thank you for walking this path alongside me. i am here for you.
with love from taos,
jennifer
